    Hi eric89,

Yes, that's correct. SkyMesh includes $100 worth of free phone calls over the 60-day trial period.

and 25mbps/25mbps as tested by speedtest.net

That bit isn't correct. As you have suggested, NBN Co doesn't offer a 25/25 Mbps speed tier. The speed offered on the Trial is 100/40 Mbps, and that's the peak speed offered by NBN Co, it's not "as tested by www.speedtest.net".

I have no idea what the quota is.

The Data Allowance offered on the Trial is 400 GB per month, and it's used as 200 GB of Normal Data ("anytime") and 200 GB of Bonus Data to be used between Midnight and 7:00 am.

    Thanks, Paul

Yeah man. I'm told by my body corp that the contractors who installed the NBN box to our townhouse complex told them that the area would be live in 2-3 weeks from that day, and that was last week. So hopefully in the next 2 weeks we should be hot to trot.

Just to chip in here, Here in Aspley I recently went onto this skymesh 60 day trial (in addition to my iiNet NBN connection yes dont hate me I now have 2 NBN connections!! :) ). SkyMesh weren't originally available in Aspley when it went live but recently they got their CVC etc in place and offered the trial to Aspley so I thought if they are happy to provide it, I am happy to evaluate it!

I found that speedtest.net gave varying results as it was choosing servers in say Melbourne (when Im in Brisbane) sometimes. Skymesh have a Ookla speed test hosted on their servers and when I use that one, I do get 97+ and 38+ results proving that the NBN connection itself is 100/40 however when other networks and backhaul etc get involved obviously you dont still get the 100Mbit to those servers. I have yet to compare the iiNet and SkyMesh connections in any quantitative way, apart from verifying that I do get very close to the 100/40 advertised speeds when hitting up the speedtest server hosted directly at the respective ISP

Does anyone know anything about the rollout in carseldine? Was supposed to be finished January, but now removed (hopefully it will appear on map again soon!)

The area around beams road down along cowie/Lacie road and thereabouts. Haven't really seen any work to be honest, but hoping they've started so it might not get scrapped.

    Wow! That's amazing!

I might have to pay a few more visits with my laptop...

and that's the peak speed offered by NBN Co, it's not "as tested by www.speedtest.net".

Er, well yeah, obviously. I was just reporting what it was there.

It was just one of the only quick ways I could try and work out what the speeds were.

Also worth noting that this was on my phone through Wi-Fi. So there might also have been a limitation there.

Both 4APL-05 and 4APL-06 are mentioned.

As jxeeno's edit explains, the numbers don't match the released state-by-state figures /forum-replies.cfm?t=2175967&p=5#r95. However the state-by-state figures indicate a higher number for Queensland, so one could surmise that the Queensland areas in jxeeno's list will be included as well as a couple more to make up the numbers.

    Of course it's pure speculation.

    Hey mate,

If you get a chance could you run some tests from here http://www.ozspeedtest.com/bandwidth-test/international/ to give us a bit of a comparison between each carriers backend?

NBNCo guys on Park Road, Nundah again this morning. They disappeared for a few weeks after doing pit inspections all through 4NDG-05. I wonder what they're up to this time? No obvious tools or cables, just some utes. Hope they're working in -05 but it's not marked as under construction...

Also spare a thought for us next to you in 4APL-05/06 (Carseldine). Area 1-4 live for a long time and work started 2012 (although I haven't seen anything) and now off map. Hopefully this whole area (4ndg/4apl etc) will be connected for fibre eventually and there'll be a nice little area with fibre in the north of Brisbane. I'm pretty sure all of fitzgibon chase (ie between our areas) has fibre as well, even though it is not on the map (we were looking at building there in end of 2012 and had we done it, they would have hooked us up right away and not done any copper at all from what we were told)

I live off Ridley Road north of Beams Rd in one of the newer subdivisions (Bridgeman Downs) and we only have copper, Telstra have told me I can't even have adsl my neighbours do so I'm assuming no free ports. I asked Telstra if I was on a RIM and they said they didn't know and told me to ring bigpond to find out. I don't know long integration takes and I'm sure testing wouldn't take very long to do. I guess it comes down to how energetic the NBN Co is. Soooo, why hasn't the NBN website been updated to change the brown to purple already? Mustn't be RFS. This must be this new transparency thing they're raving on about.

Is it still planned for RFS this month or not? Does anyone know? I've emailed the NBN Co so many times, and they tell me nothing.

Yes, I know I'm carrying on a bit about 03, and feel sorry for people in neighbouring areas who missed out. I'm just trying to fathom what the delay could possibly be? Maybe the approval form to turn the area on is sitting on Malcolm's desk and he hasn't gotten to it yet....

sweet. How long do you have to wait?

Install is on 26 and 27th of November.. so, less than 2 weeks which I assume is fairly reasonable?

Hmm, a little bit long to wait, but not too shabby I suppose.

What do they need to install internally?

Being in a unit the outdoor box is just outside my kitchen and I dont really have a concealable place that would be easy to get to so I would imagine it will be a tricky install for me.

Have you called AusBBS or anyone Crispy?

Yeah man, been emailing the bloke looking after me at AusBBS. He keeps checking and it keeps coming back as SC0. Everyone else in my street is RFS.

Odd, Optus website for me shows none of 4NDG as being active.

The Optus Web page shows the following for my address:

    "Planned Optus NBN Availability: ? Available now ? 3 Months ? 6 Months ? 12 Months"

Yeah, if I click the 3 month radio button, the 4NDG-03 area lights up purple.

I've gone for 50/20 with a data cap of 200gb once the bonus is added. Given the $10 subtraction for non availability of voice it comes in at $79.95/month.

Gone casual for $99, so I can swap ISPs if this one doesn't pan out as expected.

I believe that Optus checker is just going off old information. It shows my area (4APL-05) in the 3 months section, however it's not on the official NBN map anymore.

On the NBNco rollout map, I can only see 8 properties in Hows St that are in 4NDG-03. They're all clustered around the intersections of Hows St and David St, and Hows St and Hedley Ave.
    http://www.nbnco.com.au/when-do-i-get-it/rollout-map.html
Need to zoom in a fair bit to see the property numbers and fencelines though

Where I am, in Buckland Rd, near as I can tell, I'm in the area 4NDG-04, so no idea when, or if my block of flats will be connected.

Buckland Rd is a difficult area, as the street is divided into different areas depending which side / end you live.

You're better off ringing NBN Co and getting them to check through their address portal, which is far more accurate than the maps. Esp post-September.

My cracked the shits meter has just hit the roof.

Almost every premises in the street, including all MDU's, except mine, is now RFS. I cannot fathom how that is even remotely possible. We were cabled 2 weeks ago. What the hell???

I'm at the far Eastern end, on the Southern side.
On my side of Buckland Rd, the first 3 properties in the street are part of 4NDG-03.
On the other side (northern side) of Buckland Rd, 4NDG-03 goes up to the railway lines.
myNBN shows my part of Buckland Rd as looking to be in the 4NDG-04 area

All these 4NDG-03 RFS posts got me excited so I decided to call iiNet. They said my address wasn't showing as RFS.

I just called NBNco and got the same thing from them. They suggested it could be because it is a MDU, however I told them that I checked the address of houses in the street and didn't really get a better explanation.

I asked whether they activate street by street or something and they said the generally just turn the whole FSAM on.

So yeah, NBNco couldn't really explain why some parts of -03 are RFS and others are not.

Either the cabling is incomplete, a dodgy job has been done or NBN Co has no clue about anything.

Dude.. there is no one else that has shown more undieing belief in the on time RFS of DNG03 than you...

Its almost amusing that you seem to be the only one unable to get access :-)

But seriously, I feel for you. When I first moved in to my house on Nudgee Rd, I signed up for ADSL2 and was getting 5mb down at best it was so shite. I then realised I could get Optus Cable Extreme... signed up for that.. counted down the days, hours and minutes until it was installed... to find out on the day that they refused to install it, because the overhead cable would cross my neighbours airspace (which was against the rules). Believe me, my Cracked the shits meter well and truly hit the roof that day.... (thanks to a winge on WP, it all got sorted in the end thankfully).

As a professional photographer, the NBN will be a game changer for me. So.. I get it...

Our MDU is cabled and we each have an NBN box on our walls

I would call NBNCo with that information. If the agent doesn't have one (edit: an explanation), I would ask to speak to a supervisor and have it escalated for an explanation with someone named as responsible to call back if needed.

I have friends in an MDU that had a similar problem when the paperwork from the install wasn't lodged / processed properly in an earlier rfs'ed fsam.

    Keep us posted!

    I give up eh!

people in 03 tell me that it's RFS, the map on the NBN Co website tells a different story. Why is it not updated? The map modifiers on strike or downed tools as part of the transparency act or something?

It's causing me too much stress. All I want is the damned thing connected and going so I can order a service. I'm obviously expecting too much of someone who needs to come out.

Crispy, I've done a check on both iiNet and Telstra for addresses in Franklin Street. iiNet has nothing listed as available, but Telstra has some properties on the Amelia St end listed as being available, but properties on the Nudgee Rd end aren't. It's very confusing as to what is going on.
