Anyone concerned about harmonics v VDSL2 should read up on OFDM.

So what you are saying is a harmonic cannot be considered noise and therefore can't then become crosstalk if it matches the frequency on the line and has significant enough amplitude?

No, what I'm saying is that something considered to be a harmonic is far enough away from the original channel to not cause an issue.

VDSL2 uses many channels (4096) of relatively narrow bandwidth, 4.3kHz, so the idea of crosstalk is almost negligible, because guardbands are part of the design. You shouldn't see crosstalk from the channels you're including in your modulation schema.

Which is the same theory as Quadrature Amplitude Modulation... how you manipulate a carrier using a combination of amplitude modulation and frequency modulation. The more subtle changes you can make to the carrier, the more bits you can represent in a single time slot.

Perhaps you should take the time to go and read up on OFDM, then you'd actually understand what the O refers to.
